Dr. Redouane Chafei
Chairman – Board Member

Redouane Chafei is the Founder, Chairman and CEO at Falcon Americas Group. Founder at Venus Management Group and Former CEO at ACG Worldwide Investments. Dr Chafei started his 32 plus years old financial career at The Center of Studies and Forecasting at The University of Paris Dauphine and at the National Center of Economic Scientific Research. His accolades include being named Head of Private Banking at Group Pallas Stern – Banque Privee de Gestion Financiere (B.P.G.F.) and also Senior Banker at The International Bank of Luxembourg. In the late 1990’s he was member of the French Senior Management Team at Credit Agricole – Indosuez Bank, Henin Bank and WafaBank Group. Dr Chafei holds a PhD. In Economics, Mathematics and Specialized Econometrics from University of Paris Dauphine & CES, specializing in Financial and Currency Market Modeling and Prospective and aldo holds an MBA in Applied Econometrics & Modelling, Statistical Engineering and International Finance. Redouane is fluent in English, Arabic and French and is currently living in Mami with his wife and two children.

Victor Park
Board Member

Mr. Park is a Principal and Founder of Alternative Assets, a hedge fund capital raising firm with offices across the United States. He is also a Partner at Prodigy Partners, a fund of funds that invests in Tiger Management seeded “cubs” and affiliated managers. Mr. Park is a Founding Partner of the globally renowned SALT Conference, hosts the Third Thursday Hedge Fund industry Socials around the world, and produces the Annual Alternative Asset Summit in Las Vegas. A featured speaker at numerous industry events, Mr. Park served on II Magazine’s Hedge Fund Awards Selection Committee, and is a member of several industry advisory boards including The Alliance of Alternative Asset Professionals. Previously, Mr. Park held marketing and sales positions at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Morgan Stanley & Co., Daiwa Securities and VZB Capital. He also built and directed an equity sales and trading group that earned Euromoney Magazine’s Award for Eastern European Brokerage House of the Year. A member of Mensa, Mr. Park holds a B.A in Economics from Trinity College and an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School.

Alan Gandelman
Board Member

Mr. Gandelman is widely acknowledged to be among the most preeminent financial executives in Latin America, as well as a seasoned expert in the global capital markets and trading in Latin America. Currently Mr. Gandelman is Head of Sales at INTL FCStone Brasil DTVM, a leader in the development of specialized financial services, and also serves on the board of ANCORD, Brazil’s National Association of Broker dealers. Previously, Mr. Gandelman served as President at ATS Brasil, a joint venture between NYSE and ATG, and served as president at ICAP where he launched ICAP Brasil, which has subsequently become one of ICAP´s largest global revenue centers.Earlier, Mr. Gandalman served as managing partner at Ágora, and held senior roles at both Bear Stearns and Goldman Sachs. He was also a member of the Brasil-US Business Council, sat on Bovespa’s Board of Directors, and served as president of the International Affairs Commission. Mr. Gandelman was also president of the Bovespa Futures Index Chamber and held a similar capacity at BM&FBovespa’s Equities and Equity Derivatives Chamber following the merger.

Victor Hugo Rodriguez

He is the Founder and CEO of LatAm Alternatives. Mr Rodriguez has over 19 years of experience in Management, Sales, Marketing and Business Development within the securities industry in the US-LatAm region. He was Partner and Head of Latin American Prime Brokerage for Merlin Securities (Mid Tier Prime Broker) and Director of Global Institutional Sales at Trade Station Securities (Monex Group). Before he worked as Director of Latin America for Terra Nova Trading (now LightSpeed Trading) and in the late 90’s he was the Founder President & CEO of Pristine.com Latin America. He started his career at The Caracas Stock Exchange and was President & CEO of a mid tier local Broker Dealer. He has been a live TV Economics News Anchor and is well know as the Founder and Former Head of The Hedge Fund Association (HFA) – LatAm Chapter. Mr Rodriguez was elected STA (Security Traders Association) National Board LatAm Advisor. He lives between NYC, South Florida and Latin America. He is married with 2 children.

Martin Litwak
Board Member

Mr. Litwak is an award-winning investment funds and private client lawyer with two decades of experience in the international markets. His practice concentrates on representing investment funds, financial institutions, trust companies, family offices and HNW families and individuals based throughout Latin America, helping them to establish and administer a wide array of investment and estate planning structures. Mr. Litwak has also been very active in other practice areas including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, structured and project finance transactions, exchange of tax information and tax amnesties. Prior to founding Litwak & Partners, an offshore law firm offering the widest coverage in Latin America, Mr. Litwak practiced in Argentina, the British Virgin Islands, and Uruguay. Mr. Litwak has authored and co-authored several legal articles published in Latin America, the United Kingdom and the United States, and is a frequent speaker at regional and international conferences and seminars. He is a frequent media collaborator, has written for legal publications and journals on a wide variety of issues in the investment funds and wealth management industries. Mr. Litwak is an active member of the American Bar Association (International Section) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (where he serves as Chair of the South America branch). He is also the head of the “Team BVI LatAm”, a board of advisors to BVI Finance and is a director of the Hedge Fund Association for Argentina and Uruguay. Mr. Litwak obtained his law degree cum laude from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). He was admitted to practice law in England, Wales, and the British Virgin Islands. He also holds a Master’s degree in Finance from UCEMA (Argentina). During his extensive career, Mr. Litwak has been recognized by prestigious publications such as Who’s Who Lawyers, Chambers & Partners, Euromoney and IFLR1000.

Jose Castellano
Board Member

Mr. Castellano is widely acknowledged as among the financial services industry’s foremost global executives. Until recently, Mr. Castellano had served as Managing Director, Head of US Offshore, Latin America and Iberian markets for Pioneer Investments, a global investment firm with offices in 28 countries, over 2,000 employees, and over $240 billion in assets under management. During his tenure at Pioneer, Mr. Castellano’s responsibilities included management of sales and distribution activities, where he was instrumental in significantly growing the business, revenues, and AUM for the firm. He also participated in several global executive committees, including the Global Distribution Management Committee. Mr. Castellano joined Pioneer Investments as a Senior Sales Manager in Madrid, where he helped develop and substantially grow the organization within Spain. Previously, Mr. Castellano served as executive director at Morgan Stanley where he performed a wide variety of sales and senior management roles in private banking and private equity. Mr. Castellano began his professional career in 1983 at Banco Popular, Madrid as a Foreign Exchange Trader. Mr. Castellano holds a General Business Administration and Finance degree from Saint Louis University in Missouri, and an MBA in Finance from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, Madrid. He also holds a Master’s Degree in communications technology and e-commerce from Instituto de Empresa, Madrid.

Mike Felix
Senior Partner & CMO

Mike Felix brings over 25 years of experience in the capital markets. Mike was Head of Marketing for TeraExchange, an independent startup Swaps Execution Facility (SEF) and was also Director of Global Marketing at Lime Brokerage, a leading technology-focused agency broker specializing in low-latency electronic trading. Mike served as SVP, Director of Global Marketing for RealTick, a leading independent EMS trading technology provider and subsidiary of Lehman Brothers and subsequently Barclays Capital. Mike was also a cofounder of Hottrend, an algorithmic trading services provider acquired by RealTick and his other experience includes positions at KPMG Peat Marwick in the Czech Republic, Conoco Phillips in Venezuela and analyst positions at JP Morgan Chase. Mike lives in New York and received his MBA from Harvard Business School, BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University where he was also elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Ted Kanarek
Senior Partner

Mr. Kanarek joined LATAM Alternatives in 2015. Prior to joining the firm Mr. Kanarek had been the Director of Business Development & the Global Head of Consultant Relations at Citibank’s Citi Capital Advisors. Citi Capital Advisors (CCA) is the $19 Billion USD Alternative Asset Management platform that offered a broad range of innovative strategies and products (hedge funds, private equity and real assets) to sovereign wealth funds, global pensions and ultra-high-net-worth investors. Mr. Kanarek was also a Senior Vice President at Allianz Global Investors Capital. Allianz is an investment firm with over $60 Billion USD under their teams asset management group. Mr. Kanarek also had similar alternative investment management roles with Systematic Financial Management, GE Asset Management and institutional investment advisor Callan Associates over the last 20 years. Mr. Kanarek earned a BS with a double major in Biology and Mathematics from Seton Hall University, an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University and is Registered with FINRA and NFA as a Registered Representative.

Alejandro Jose Rodriguez
Co-Founder, Partner

Alejandro studied Systems Engineering with a special bias in process control. Mr Rodriguez is also Partner of LatAmFinance, a boutique Introducing Broker of financial products and services. Mr Rodriguez was founder and COO at Pristine.com Latin America and the Operations Manager of the Miami Brach for its broker dealer. Mr Rodriguez worked as the Head of the LatAm Division of Terra Nova Trading. He has over 16 years of experience running Equities, Options, Futures Trading Desks as well as the Client Service aspects of the Brokerage Business. Mr Rodriguez started his career in 1997 as an FX trader for a Mid Tier Broker Dealer in Latin America. Mr Rodriguez lives in South Florida but loves to spend part of his time in Colorado where he is an avid Mountain Biker and Snowboarder.

Jose Abbo
Partner

Mr. Abbo has authored numerous articles about the financial markets and the Global economy. He has researched and written for such well-recognized publications as The Economist Intelligence Unit and America Economia. In 2000 Mr. Abbo published “Divisando Wall Street Desde el Sur de America” (a comprehensive guide for the Spanish-speaking community that explains the workings of the stock market). He makes regular guest appearances on various radio and television programs and has served as an expert witness in financial trials and forensic cases. He was Managing Director Corporate Finance at SFC Investment Panama and before he was Vice President International Capital Markets at Credit Suisse Panama. Mr. Abbo holds a degree in Professional Management from Nova University and has served as an MBA tutor for Tecnológico de Monterrey/ Thunderbird University Panama-based Global MBA programs. He is married with 4 children.

Ruben Cabrera

Before joining LatAm Alternatives LLC, Mr. Cabrera was The Head of Institutional Sales US Markets & Portfolio Manager at CM Capital Markets in Madrid, where he ran the program trading desk with an specialty in Pair and L/S Equities Trading and CFD, previously was the founder and CEO at Bolsagest Global Investments where his team developed an Electronic Execution Management System in Spanish for retail high frequency traders. Mr Cabrera was Head of Trading at Pristine Capital Management and was responsible for the trading floors in Caracas, Santiago and Miami. He is currently based between Caracas and Madrid and is an acting member of the Global Investment Committee for M&A activities in Spain, LatAm and Qatar. He is married with 2 children.

Chouaib Tammar
Partner

Mr. Tammar oversees the in-house due diligence analyst team for alternatives investments funds at LatAm Alternatives and concurrently serves at Executive Vice President at Falcon Americas Brothers Advisors. Mr. Tammar commenced his career as a financial analyst in Casablanca, Morocco at Atijjariwafa Bank. In 2010, he relocated to Canada to start an independent consultancy practice targeted at startup and mid-tier financial firms. Mr. Tammar also served as a Senior Project Manager at Alasys, and had taught financial management classes at CDI Montreal. Mr. Tammar received his MBA from Ecole de technologie superieure in Montreal, Canada and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, business and personal/financial services, marketing and operations at Universite du Quebec a Montreal. He is an avid runner and lives between Canada and USA.

Eduardo Iturbe
Partner & VP of Technology

Mr. Iturbe is in charge of The LA Group¹s Technology Platform based on web services and oriented on Software as a service (SaaS) and before joining LatAm Alternatives LLC; Mr. Iturbe was an external consultant for several major Telecom Companies in Venezuela and Miami, where he assisted in Program Management areas as Data, Security and Storage Management. From 2002 to 2012 Mr. Iturbe was VP of Technology at CSR Consulting Services, during his tenure in this position Mr. Iturbe was in charge of several framework validation projects across different ever-expanding databases, he was interesting in expert systems to mimic unique data analysis using latest technologies to match patterns that delivered compelling results. Since 2004 Mr. Iturbe has been affiliated with The Project Management Institute Venezuelan Chapter. Earlier in his career he was Program Manager at Motorola in Venezuela and Telecommunication Manager at World Tel-Fax Electronic. Mr. Iturbe earned his degree in Electrical Engineering bias Telecommunications in 1994 from Universidad Metropolitana (UNIMET) in Venezuela and other specializations in the same area. He lives between Miami, Bogota and Caracas where his wife and 2 kids are based.

Lazaro Dorta

Lazaro Dorta has over 25 years of healthcare, finance and lending related experience serving both on the payer and provider sides in a range of leadership roles.  Previously, Mr. Dorta held positions of increasing responsibility at United Health Group, Humana and HCA Hospital Systems. His leadership skills coupled with a strategic vision of supporting healthcare providers and managed care companies in their highly regulated industry has attributed to much personal success and company growth over the years. A lead by example executive with a proven track record in business and commercial real estate financing and a current adjunct professor at Barry University Andreas School of Business.  Mr. Dorta is truly passionate about his family, teaching, investments, basketball, traveling and giving back to the community.  Mr. Dorta received his M.B.A. and I.M.B.A. degrees from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelors in Health Services Administration from Florida International University.
