Victor Hugo Rodriguez
Founder / President and CEO

He is the Founder and CEO of LatAm Alternatives. Mr Rodriguez has over 19 years of experience in Management, Sales, Marketing and Business Development within the securities industry in the US-LatAm region. He was Partner and Head of Latin American Prime Brokerage for Merlin Securities (Mid Tier Prime Broker) and Director of Global Institutional Sales at Trade Station Securities (Monex Group). Before he worked as Director of Latin America for Terra Nova Trading (now LightSpeed Trading) and in the late 90’s he was the Founder President & CEO of Latin America. He started his career at The Caracas Stock Exchange and was President & CEO of a mid tier local Broker Dealer. He has been a live TV Economics News Anchor and is well know as the Founder and Former Head of The Hedge Fund Association (HFA) – LatAm Chapter. Mr Rodriguez was elected STA (Security Traders Association) National Board LatAm Advisor. He lives between NYC, South Florida and Latin America. He is married with 2 children.

Mike Felix
Senior Partner / CMO

Mike Felix brings over 25 years of experience in the capital markets. Mike was Head of Marketing for TeraExchange, an independent startup Swaps Execution Facility (SEF) and was also Director of Global Marketing at Lime Brokerage, a leading technology-focused agency broker specializing in low-latency electronic trading. Mike served as SVP, Director of Global Marketing for RealTick, a leading independent EMS trading technology provider and subsidiary of Lehman Brothers and subsequently Barclays Capital. Mike was also a cofounder of Hottrend, an algorithmic trading services provider acquired by RealTick and his other experience includes positions at KPMG Peat Marwick in the Czech Republic, Conoco Phillips in Venezuela and analyst positions at JP Morgan Chase. Mike lives in New York and received his MBA from Harvard Business School, BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University where he was also elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Alejandro Jose Rodriguez
Co-Founder / Senior Partner

Alejandro is the Co-Founder at The LatAm Alternatives Group. He studied Systems Engineering with a special bias in process control. Mr Rodriguez is also Partner of LatAmFinance, a boutique Introducing Broker of financial products and services. Mr Rodriguez was founder and COO at Latin America and the Operations Manager of the Miami Brach for its broker dealer. Mr Rodriguez worked as the Head of the LatAm Division of Terra Nova Trading. He has over 21 years of experience running Equities, Options, Futures Trading Desks as well as the Client Service aspects of the Brokerage Business. Mr Rodriguez oversees all the compliance aspects as well as carefully implementing and supervising all the AML policies in alignment with FATCA among others legal process. Alejandro started his career in 1997 as an FX trader for a Mid-Tier Broker Dealer in Latin America. Mr Rodriguez lives between South Florida and Miami with his wife and their daughter.  His family loves to spend part of his time in Colorado where he is an avid Mountain Biker and Snowboarder.

Katiuska Valiente
Partner / Head of Marketing and Communications

Ms. Valiente was an award-winning Spanish-language journalist, news anchor and television producer. Before joining LatAm Alternatives she was the anchor and general news producer at Noticias Univision, a leading Spanish-language cable news channel, where she was responsible for broadcast in the New England region. Ms. Valiente began her tenure at Noticias Univision New England as a reporter/multimedia journalist (MMJ) and production assistant.  Prior to Univision, she served as multimedia journalist for El Mundo Newspaper based in Boston.  Previously, Ms. Valiente served as a television production assistant at Sun Channel Television, a cable channel focused on tourism and traveling in her native Venezuela. She began her career at The Primero Justicia Party as a radio programmer and broadcast journalist.  Ms Valiente was recently named to The 100 most Powerful People in The Massachusetts Latino Community, and is a fierce advocate for the New England Latino population who has been officially recognized for her efforts by the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She has won two major Latino-Boston News Awards: Top News Anchor and Top News Program. Ms. Valiente obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication at Universidad Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela and has studied at Emerson College in Boston. She lives between Boston and Miami with her two wonderful children.

Ruben Cabrera

Before joining LatAm Alternatives LLC, Mr. Cabrera was The Head of Institutional Sales US Markets & Portfolio Manager at CM Capital Markets in Madrid, where he ran the program trading desk with an specialty in Pair and L/S Equities Trading and CFD, previously was the founder and CEO at Bolsagest Global Investments where his team developed an Electronic Execution Management System in Spanish for retail high frequency traders. Mr Cabrera was Head of Trading at Pristine Capital Management and was responsible for the trading floors in Caracas, Santiago and Miami. He is currently based between Caracas and Madrid and is an acting member of the Global Investment Committee for M&A activities in Spain, LatAm and Qatar. He is married with 2 children.

Jose Abbo

Mr. Abbo has authored numerous articles about the financial markets and the Global economy. He has researched and written for such well-recognized publications as The Economist Intelligence Unit and America Economia. In 2000 Mr. Abbo published “Divisando Wall Street Desde el Sur de America” (a comprehensive guide for the Spanish-speaking community that explains the workings of the stock market). He makes regular guest appearances on various radio and television programs and has served as an expert witness in financial trials and forensic cases. He was Managing Director Corporate Finance at SFC Investment Panama and before he was Vice President International Capital Markets at Credit Suisse Panama. Mr. Abbo holds a degree in Professional Management from Nova University and has served as an MBA tutor for Tecnológico de Monterrey/ Thunderbird University Panama-based Global MBA programs. He is married with 4 children.

Manuel Perez Matos

Manuel joined LatAm Alternatives Group via LAS Americas Media to revamp the concept of Video Marketing. Manuel is a recognized visual explorer. From creative development, direction, production, editorial and complex compositing his ability to execute across a multitude of disciplines is truly unique. After receiving a degree in Advertising, Manuel got his professional start in the media business as a promo copywriter at a local TV channel in his native Venezuela. It was there, in a small editing room, where he would later discover his fascination with the digital world and the art of post-production. Shortly thereafter, editing became his passion. He has worked with various top-level production houses over the years, participating in the creation of TV commercials, Networks, ProgramBranding, as well as long-form documentaries, drama, reality and live action mystery series. The industry has praised his work with eight Emmy Awards and several PromaxBDA Gold Awards for his directing, editing and graphic arts work. He is also extremely active in the music industry, having participated in more than sixty music videos as producer, director and editor. When not directing himself, he collaborates with some of the world’s biggest commercial and music video directors in the Hispanic market. He has worked on projects that feature artists as diverse as Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Mana, Alejandro Sanz, CNCO, Becky G, Ozuna, Bad Bunny, Karol G, Prince Royce, Gente de Zona, Ricardo Arjona and Pitbull. He lives between Miami, NYC and Boston with his lovely wife and two young children.

Ramon Gimenez Matos
Partner / Head of Project Management and Business Analysis

Ramon studied Systems Engineering with Project Management´s specialization. He was cum laude awarded from La Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Caracas, Venezuela. Mr. Gimenez also has an extensive experience in telecommunications, media and oil companies with a combined expertise in solutions engineering, administrative systems and the development of new applications and projects. With proven skills in the SAP environment and the management of technological projects Ramon joined The LatAm Alternatives Group in 2016 to boost and improve technological integration to consolidate the IT environment in compliance with Financial Securities laws and regulations. Mr. Gimenez worked previously at the number one printed newspaper in Venezuela (El Universal) as Group Manager for applications and projects. Before, he worked at The Venezuelan National Telecom Company (CANTV) as a top engineer solutions manager. He obtained at major in Management from Venezuela’s top Business School IESA and currently works remotely from New York with periodic travels to the Miami and Boston Offices. Mr. Gimenez currently also works Pro Bono in New York City in order to give back to society and has been involved in some Venezuelan initiatives to help refugees that are leaving the country from the humanitarian crisis.

Daniel Velasquez
Partner / Head of Educational Services

Mr. Velásquez is Partner and Head of Educational Service and also, he is the founder and Coach at “Your Own CEO” which supports Latin American executives to achieve their professional goals through business coaching sessions. Before joining The LatAm Alternatives Group Daniel was B2B Director for Latin America for ADEN Business School leading 24 branches in the region. Also, from 2008 to late 2013 Mr. Velásquez was Regional Manager for INCAE Business in Ecuador, Colombia, Panama and Venezuela. His greatest passion is to teach and make consultancies in marketing, sales and strategy and to help people and companies achieve their goals. For this reason, he was volunteer in Young Entrepreneurs Volunteers Network – JA Nicaragua helping young entrepreneurs to make real their businesses ideas. He was also member of INDE (Instituto Nicaragüense de Desarrollo) teaching courses and conferences in Business. Mr. Velasquez is from Colombia and while there, he thought marketing and strategy in Universidad Externado de Colombia and LaSalle College University. Mr. Velasquez holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Universidad Externado de Colombia. Also, an MBA (master’s in business administration) from INCAE Business School with emphasis in Marketing. He is an expert in conductive sales, digital marketing and Leadership Development. Daniel live between Latin America and Miami where he was relocated with his wife and two young children.

Eduardo Iturbe
Partner / VP of Technology

Mr. Iturbe is in charge of The LA Group¹s Technology Platform based on web services and oriented on Software as a service (SaaS) and before joining LatAm Alternatives LLC; Mr. Iturbe was an external consultant for several major Telecom Companies in Venezuela and Miami, where he assisted in Program Management areas as Data, Security and Storage Management. From 2002 to 2012 Mr. Iturbe was VP of Technology at CSR Consulting Services, during his tenure in this position Mr. Iturbe was in charge of several framework validation projects across different ever-expanding databases, he was interested in expert systems to mimic unique data analysis using latest technologies to match patterns that delivered compelling results. Since 2004 Mr. Iturbe has been affiliated with The Project Management Institute Venezuelan Chapter. Earlier in his career he was Program Manager at Motorola in Venezuela and Telecommunication Manager at World Tel-Fax Electronic. Mr. Iturbe earned his degree in Electrical Engineering with an specialitation in Telecommunications in 1994 from Universidad Metropolitana (UNIMET) in Venezuela and other specializations in the same area. He lives between Miami, Bogota and Caracas where his wife and 2 kids are based.

Jonathan Soto Gregg
Partner / Web Development

Jonathan is a web designer specialist with more than 12 years of experience in the field and has dedicated himself to web development through a content management system called WordPress, which has allowed him to connect with commercial partners and study communities to offer a better look and feel of the overall web environment. He began his career in a self-taught way before graduating as a bachelor and obtained his first clients independently. He became a specialist through a study process at the Digital Design Center of Caracas. He expanded his portfolio with effort and dedication, in a disciplined and unshakeable manner. His mission is simple: to help others, with the aim of continuing to investigate topics of developing, managing, creating extracts, publishing content, sharing and generating material for those who wish to improve in the digital world. He has dedicated himself to share in his blog freely, providing knowledge compatible with the most powerful free use content management systems in the world and even offers study materials to anyone who may be interested. Currently he is a member of the LatAm Alternatives Group team aspiring to evolve professionally through team-work, proactivity and transparency.

Leonard Lares Quintero
Partner / Head Graphic Design

Mr Lares Quintero is the Head Graphic Design a well-known Latin graphic designer who specializes also in brand identity system development. He has extensive experience in graphic design across The Latin American Region, working closely with major and important clients in different verticals. His focus has been on concept ideation, logo development, typography, color palette, graphic language, photo style and video edition. Leonard design using a wide range of applications such as Photoshop, Ilustrator, 3ds max, Drawing, Design Graphic, Lettering and Creative Development. He served as Art Director and partner at Zinaphia Creative and was the lead graphic designer/account manager at Aerolinea Creativa MX and Megainbound. Mr Lares Quintero received her BA in Graphic Design from the “Design Institute” in Caracas, Venezuela.
